If you haven’t heard, universities around the world are offering  their courses online for free (or at least, partially free). These courses are collectively called MOOCs or Massive Open Online Courses.

In the past nine years or so, over 900 universities have created  around 15,000 MOOCs. I’ve been keeping track of these online courses the  entire time here at Class Central, a search engine and reviews site for online education which has been used by 40 million learners around the world.

In the past six months alone, 250 universities, including Harvard,  Stanford, MIT, and a few Ivy League Schools have announced 900 such free  online courses. I’ve compiled this list below and categorized the courses into the following subjects:

  • Humanities (91)
  • Business (142)
  • Science (104)
  • Health & Medicine (105)
  • Personal Development (53)
  • Programming (37)
  • Computer Science (44)
  • Data Science (15)
  • Education & Teaching (44)
  • Art & Design (28)
  • Social Sciences (98)
  • Engineering (86)
  • Mathematics (34)

On March 15th, Class Central noticed a big rise in visitors. Since then, 15 million learners (and even a few celebrities)  visited Class Central to look for courses. Here are some course lists  that Class Central has written and are updated regularly due to  opportunities created by the pandemic.
